In your Will

By making a gift in your will, you can continue to transform way in to the future. It’s a wonderful way to ensure that your legacy lives on.

It’s also quick and easy to leave a gift in your will. You leave a lump sum of money, part of your estate or a specific item. If you already have a will in place, you can easily amend it – you’ll just need a solicitor to confirm that everything is legally binding

Our ‘Leaving a gift in your Will’ guide which will walk you through the process step by step. Please let us know, if you’re planning on leaving a gift in your will, so we update you on any changes that will impact your legacy and, of course, thank you.

In-Memory

Giving a gift in-memory of a family member or loved one is a beautiful way to celebrate their life. There are various ways you can make this happen.

Set Up A JustGiving Page

Setting up a JustGiving page is one of the easiest ways to bring people together to remember a loved one. On your personalised giving page, you can share from your heart, include personal photos and encourage others to add their own stories and memories, too.

Your specific page will have its own web link, so you can email it to friends or even use it as part of a Funeral Collection. Take a look at www.justgiving.com/wmuk to see what others are up to.

Organise an Event

You may want to bring people together to organise a walk or challenge event in memory of someone special. Our Fundraising pages have more information on how to get involved this way.

Make a Donation

You may simply want to use the donation page on our website to make your gift. Just let us know that you are making the donation in memory of a loved one.

Whatever you do, please let us know in advance if you need any help or advice, but especially so we can send a thank you. Email us at info@wmuk.org.uk

Funeral Collection

Encouraging donations as part of a funeral service can help to bring comfort and ensure that lives continue to be changed for the better. We’ve put together some words that you can use as part of your funeral service or help to guide your conversations with a funeral director.

‘In lieu of flowers, we are collecting donations on behalf of WMUK, the only charity dedicated to Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinaemia – a rare form of blood cancer. Donations can be made as a retiring collection or forwarded directly to the charity at WMUK, Foden House, 47 London Road, Alderley Edge. SK9 7JT. Please make cheques payable to WMUK or donate online and specify your gift in memory of…””

Other Ways to give

There are many other ways you can give to the charity. Here are some other ideas

In your salary (pay-roll giving)

Many large organisations run Give As You Earn schemes. This means you can donate straight from your salary, making it a more convenient and tax-efficient way to give.

For instance, if you pay a tax rate of 40%, you can pledge £100 a month through your salary and only £60 will be deducted from your net pay.

If your employer doesn’t operate a Give As You Earn scheme, you could suggest they set up a programme as part of their social commitments.

As you shop

Websites like Give As You Live & EasyFundraising donate a portion of your online shopping to your chosen charity, at no extra cost to you. Simply sign up to them, and shop as you usually would online. Whenever you buy through one of the 1000s of retailers signed up them, a donation comes to WMUK.

In celebration

You can turn your special celebration into a life-changing event! Mark a milestone or special event by encouraging donations to WMUK in lieu of gifts. You can easily set up a JustGiving or FaceBook page to help you share your special event and collect donations. Let us know what you’re planning and we can help you track donations and send a big thank you to your supporters too! Don’t hesitate to contact us through info@wmuk.org.uk if you have any questions or need help getting going.
