“I’m Walking for Waldenstrom’s because a WMUK Support Line would empower so many people.” – Vicky, WM patient

Join the Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia community to help raise £17,000 to launch the WMUK Support Line. We’re asking the WM community to come together and collectively walk the 1,700km between London and Stockholm before 17 April 2022.

Whether you have a wander with friends, do laps of your garden or hike the hills, every penny you raise will ensure people affected by WM, like Vicky, will always have somewhere to turn to find answers, support and reassurance.

How will I help?

Every penny you raise by joining Walk for Waldenstrom’s will go towards funding the brand new WMUK Support Line, ensuring people affected by WM have somewhere to turn.

In September 2022, WMUK plans to launch the UK’s first ever WM-specific support line. The WMUK Support Line will be a vital service for people affected by Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia, their families and friends. Staffed by a WM healthcare professional, it will be open to anyone who needs expert information, advice, or simply a listening ear.

Vicky Towers, a WM patient, says, “The WMUK Support Line would not just empower me but give me hope in my darkest moments, and I’m sure it would do the same for so many other patients and their families. That’s why I’m walking for Waldenstrom’s.”

By joining together with friends, family and the WM community, you’ll be able to make the WMUK Support Line a reality, and ensure everyone with WM has somewhere to turn to find answers, reassurance and hope.

Right now, we don’t have the funds to get this service up and running. But by helping us raise £17,000 before the 17 April, you’ll be ensuring that we can launch the Support Line in September 2022.

How do I take part?

It’s easy to join Walk for Waldenstrom’s:

1. Sign up

2. Choose your walking route and set a date between now at 17 April

3. Set up a giving page and share with family and friends

We’ll send you a T-shirt, poster, and sponsorship form, as well emailing you loads of ideas and advice to help you raise money.

Organising a walk can be as simple as meeting a few friends for a wander around your local park. If you’re isolating, you could do laps of your garden, or test yourself with climbing the stairs as many times as possible.

However you decide to walk, the important thing is you’re coming together with the WM community to improve the lives of everyone living with the disease.
