The festive calendar at WMUK
This time of year is often one of excitement and coming together, but we also know that this isn’t the case for everyone in the community. Whether you’re looking for advice, or a friendly chat, here’s everything you need to know about accessing our support for Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia and our events over Christmas and into the New Year.
The WMUK Support Line
The Support Line will be closed from Thursday 19th December 2024 for the festive period and will reopen on Monday, 6 January 2025.
If you have any non-urgent queries, then you can still email us at support@wmuk.org.uk, and our Support Line Nurse will respond to you on her return on the 6 January.
If you need more immediate clinical support, make sure to contact your clinical team or Blood Cancer UK on 0808 2080 888.
If you feel like you are struggling mentally and need to speak with someone, you can contact the Samaritans on 116 123.
WMUK events
We know that the festive season and January can be a difficult time for many reasons. Therefore we have a series of events lined up for the New Year to support everyone in the WM community.
9th January 2025 7pm – Coffee and Chat for those that are living alone.
A Coffee and Chat specifically for people who are living alone, giving you a chance to chat with others in a similar situation. No need to register, just join here any time between 7pm and 8pm.
21st January 2025 1pm – Coffee and Chat
Our usual Coffee and Chat session run by Beth, our Support Line nurse. This is for anyone living in the WM community to drop in and chat, listen or ask questions. No need to register, just join here anytime between 1pm and 2pm.
30th January 2025 TBC – Men’s mental health webinar
We’ll be joined by Tough to Talk, a charity focussed on men’s mental health, to chat about supporting your mental health. This webinar is for men in the WM community only. More details on time and registration will be shared on our WM events pages soon soon.
The WMUK office
The WMUK offices will be shut from 19th December 2024 through to the 6th January 2025. For any general enquiries about the charity or fundraising, you can contact us during this period by email on info@wmuk.org.uk and we’ll get back to you when the office reopens on the 6th.
