Here’s a message from our Chief Executive, Jane Nicholson, in relation to ‘Freedom Day’.

“Whilst for many people in the UK, today is ‘Freedom Day’, we know that for people living with cancer, including Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia, it might not feel that way. People who may be immunocompromised are more at risk from the Covid virus and we don’t know how effective the vaccines are for people living with blood cancer. Let’s work together to protect them. You can do this by:

    • Being distant aware, especially in crowded spaces
    • Wearing a mask when indoors and on public transport
    • Self-isolating if you’ve been in contact with someone who has tested positive, even if you don’t have symptoms

These three simple steps can help keep our WM community safe.”

Please share this message with family, friends and colleagues to help keep people affected by Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia and other who may be immunocompromised safe.
